“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:19-21
Laying up and storing takes effort, time and preparation… even dedication. Where you spend most of your energy indicates what you love.
The rapper, entrepreneur P. Diddy had a reality show where he gave hopefuls the opportunity to work with him. They balked at some of the tasks they were given as being senseless and unnecessary. Diddy later explained that he wanted people whose heart was in the job. If your heart isn’t in it… why bother?
What lengths will we go to to bless a stranger, help a saint, prepare ourselves for supernatural ministry? If we allow God to capture our hearts, then we will put great effort into our work… laying up treasure in heaven.
