THE POWER TO GET WEALTH

A teaching by Rev. Barbara Williams, President of the Ministry of the Watchman International

Week of August 3-7,  2020

MONDAY
And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.
Deuteronomy 8:18

The power to get wealth comes from God. God gives all men the power to get wealth. We do not all have the power to prosper. Prosperity and wealth are two different things. To prosper means to succeed or to thrive. Many people acquire wealth but never succeed. Wealth does not guarantee success. Prosperity, then, infers an ability to never fail, or if failure seems imminent, it can be averted and restitution restores that which was lost or threatened. Wealth may come and go depending upon the source of it.

As believers our source of wealth and prosperity is God. He is able to give us the guarantee that everything we set our hands to will prosper, (Psalm 1:3). Everything you work at will go well. It will not fail because God works with the believer, establishing His covenant.

If you are in need of healing, there is good news! Proverbs 4:20-22 SAYS:

My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

So there is life and health in God’s word. Since God’s word is medicine, we must take it like we would a prescription. I suggest three times a day, like you would your food. Remember, healing is the children’s bread. Consider this your “dose” for today. Remember, read, and meditate three times a day the following:

Rx: 3 John 2 ~ Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

“Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
2 Timothy 2:15

TUESDAY
And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.
Deuteronomy 8:18

God gives all wealth. The devil has none to give. He is a thief, and whatever he gives was stolen and will be stolen again. That is why sinners cannot claim prosperity… the source of their wealth is not the owner of that wealth, and therefore cannot guarantee their prosperity. In fact, many people live in fear of failure and with good reason.

When God has not given you the wealth that you have, He cannot insure it will remain with you. That is why our giving into the work of God is so important. Whenever we give, God insures that it will be given to us good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over (Luke 6:38). He does this to make certain that we know that He appreciates it and His Kingdom advances and remains secure.

WEDNESDAY
And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.
Deuteronomy 8:18

God loves a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:7). He blesses those who enjoy His work. Whenever money is transferred from the world’s system into God’s Kingdom, there is a decline in the integrity of the present world. We can make great strides for God by giving with joy.

Joy lets God know that our hearts are with His. Joy allows God to know that we appreciate the opportunity to give toward His work. God does not force us to obey Him and He gets no pleasure in seeing us suffer. Instead, we are willing to give what we have, knowing that a greater reward awaits us. We have the blessing of seeing souls won, and the devil defeated, plus reward in this life. That’s something to be joyful about.

THURSDAY
And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.
Deuteronomy 8:18

When God gives His people the power to get wealth, it is to establish His covenant. God’s wealth has a purpose. The devil’s wealth does not. When the wealth of the world comes to a person, it is certain that it will be lost in a short time. Money from gambling, raffles and lotteries last but a short time.

Laboring with the work of your hands produces lasting wealth. This is God’s way and He promises that we will prosper, also. The prosperity portion is what establishes His covenant. When we have a guarantee to prosper, we can then be assured that when we teach it to our children, they will grasp it and teach it to their children. The covenant is established through generational prosperity.

FRIDAY
And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.
Deuteronomy 8:18

We will have a tendency to think that our own work has gotten us the wealth that we have. That is why it is good to tithe. The patriarchs of old gave a tenth of their increase to God as a memorial and a reminder to them that it was not them, but God who enabled them to have the rain, the land, the crops, cattle and all things that pertained to their wealth. The tenth insured that rain would fall again and that no devourer would come to eat the crops before they were harvested. God let His people know that He was God by giving them the power to get wealth. This power resides in all believers. Use it to His glory!
