OUR FATHER’S VISION

A teaching by Rev. Barbara Williams, President of the Ministry of the Watchman International

Week of June 12-16, 2023

MONDAY
You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.
1 Peter 2:9-10

We need to understand and accept God’s vision for us. He is our real Father. He is the author and creator of all things. He has called us home, to Himself. His great love for us has pursued us to the depths of sin and retrieved us. He is the all-consuming fire. He is the Great I am. He has made marvelous provision for us because He has a glorious vision of us and for us. This week, let us reflect on just a glimpse of our Heavenly Father’s vision for us.

If you are in need of healing, there is good news! Proverbs 4:20-22 SAYS:

My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

So there is life and health in God’s word. Since God’s word is medicine, we must take it like we would a prescription. I suggest three times a day, like you would your food. Remember, healing is the children’s bread. Consider this your “dose” for today. Remember, read, and meditate three times a day the following:

Rx: 2 Kings 20:5 ~ Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father: “I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; surely I will heal you.”

“Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
2 Timothy 2:15

If you’ve never studied the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, we invite you to join us as we read through the Bible in a year. Read and meditate on these chapters this week:

June 12: Deuteronomy 17, Psalms 104, Isaiah 44, Revelation 14
June 13: Deuteronomy 18, Psalms 105, Isaiah 45, Revelation 15
June 14: Deuteronomy 19, Psalms 106, Isaiah 46, Revelation 16
June 15: Deuteronomy 20, Psalms 107, Isaiah 47, Revelation 17
June 16: Deuteronomy 21, Psalms 108-109, Isaiah 48, Revelation 18
June 17: Deuteronomy 22, Psalms 10-111, Isaiah 49, Revelation 19
June 18: Deuteronomy 23, Psalms 112-113, Isaiah 50, Revelation 20

TUESDAY
You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.
1 Peter 2:9-10

We are a chosen generation. God sees us as a set apart people. The word generation refers to the people who are alive in this hour. Throughout eternity God has seen His people on the earth during their lifetime as a chosen people. The Jew and converts of the Old Testament, and the Christian of the New Testament comprise the generation of chosen people. What are we chosen for? We are chosen to represent the goodness of God in the earth. We are adorned gloriously in His righteousness. There is nothing impossible to the righteous, and this we are commanded to proclaim to all who will hear. This means that we have the keys to eternity and as we invite others in to His Kingdom, God increases the generation of the upright. Child of God, this is who you are. You are a part of a worldwide body of people chosen by God to bring glory and praise to Him. No other people on earth can do this.

WEDNESDAY
You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.
1 Peter 2:9-10

You are a royal priesthood. You are royalty. You are the descendant of the King of all Kings. This is true no matter what your past has been. You are more than able to do the things that God commands because of your new royal birth.

Remember that your born again experience was not just an escape from your past, but new birth into a royal family with a glorious future. God sees you as fully capable and deserving of every good thing that He has promised. Remember that. You are fully capable by virtue of your royal birth. Begin to meditate on that the way God meditates on it.

Reflect on the goodness of God continually. He is good to all, and He has conferred the blessing of sonship upon believers. As His son, you have no more doubt about your inheritance. You are confident that He will use you. As a priest, you have compassion on those in need, and you take those needs to the Father of us all. You know that your Father will not disappoint, so you are able to hope without shame. You confidently wait for the answer, all the time, loving and worshipping and praising your Father.

This is His vision for you as a King and a priest.

THURSDAY
You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.
1 Peter 2:9-10

You are a holy nation. You are part of a race of people that God calls “holy.” Holiness means that you are without blame.

You are made righteous by the Blood of the Lamb. This Lamb is your precious Savior and Lord, Jesus. Because He took on your sin, you are made righteous in Him.

You are without blame, and your works are approved by God. He trusts you. You are worthwhile. You matter, and what you desire means something to Him. He has set you apart from the world for a special mission. You are on loan to the world to bring the message of hope and redemption.

You are special to God. He protects you because you are holy. He blesses you with good things, because you are without blame. No other group of people on the earth can make this claim. Please claim this vision of yourself for yourself.

FRIDAY
You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.
1 Peter 2:9-10

You are a peculiar people. You live in a flesh and blood body, but you are more spirit than you realize. Jesus told Peter that he did not know what manner of being he was. Could Peter call fire down from heaven? Elijah did. Can we do it? God knows. More importantly, we can pluck men out of the fires of hell, bring healing, wholeness and reconciliation to the hearts of men, and give divine instruction to those in need. We are indeed peculiar. Nobody on the face of the earth can make this claim. We are forgiven of our sins, faults, and mistakes. We are able to love and hate, but we choose to love. We raise the bar on morality because we choose not to love our lives above God. We are giving, sacrificing, and worshipping an invisible God, who is more real to us than life itself. We are fully persuaded of His great love for us.

This Father’s Day, begin by rejoicing in that you have a Father in heaven who loves you and has a great vision for your life. Reflect on the real you, by seeing yourself through His eyes.
