A teaching by Rev. Barbara Williams, President of the Ministry of the Watchman International
Week of March 11-15, 2024
MONDAY
Give unto the Lord, O you mighty ones,
Give unto the Lord glory and strength.
Give unto the Lord the glory due to His name;
Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.
The voice of the Lord is over the waters;
The God of glory thunders;
The Lord is over many waters.
Psalm 29:1-3
The psalmist is speaking to the mighty to give glory and honor to God. He is speaking to Presidents, Kings, generals-all the mighty to give the Lord the glory due His Name. He is commanding all of those who feel powerful to bow down and worship the One True God. He tells them to give the Lord the glory due His Name, and not to try and keep it for themselves. All the kings of the earth must bow to the King of Kings-why?
Because the Lord is Great. This honor is due Him. The voice of the Lord is upon many waters, (nations or peoples). The Lord’s voice thunders. He is not always the “still small voice.” He is a God of majesty, power, and might. He has the most power of all…we must give Him glory. Worship Him in the beauty of holiness. Worship His Majesty.
If you are in need of healing, there is good news! Proverbs 4:20-22 SAYS:
My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
So there is life and health in God’s word. Since God’s word is medicine, we must take it like we would a prescription. I suggest three times a day, like you would your food. Remember, healing is the children’s bread. Consider this your “dose” for today. Remember, read, and meditate three times a day the following:
Rx: Psalm 146:8 ~ The Lord sets the prisoners free; the Lord opens the eyes of the blind. The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down; the Lord loves the righteous.
“Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
2 Timothy 2:15

TUESDAY
The voice of the Lord is powerful;
The voice of the Lord is full of majesty.
The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars,
Yes, the Lord splinters the cedars of Lebanon.
Psalm 29:4-5
The voice of the Lord is powerful. No word of God is void of power; So much so that His Word will accomplish itself. Understand this, God’s Word is irrefutable and forever settled in Heaven. When it is released in the earth, it goes out and does itself. It does what it declares. It actually performs itself. How powerful!
For example: A knife is an inanimate object that cuts when utilized by a human. But imagine a self-cutting knife. That’s God’s Word. It is alive, powerful, and sharper than a two-edged sword. It divides our souls from our spirits. It is a self-cutting knife. How Awesome is Our God!
WEDNESDAY
He makes them also skip like a calf,
Lebanon and Sirion like a young wild ox.
The voice of the Lord divides the flames of fire.
Psalm 29:6-7
God’s voice breaks cedars, strong cedars, and also divides the flames of fire. God’s voice walks through fire. Remember Schadrach, Meschach, & Abed-nego? They were tossed in the oven for refusing to give their king the honor that they reserved for God.
Can you see why? They knew their God was more powerful. They were not careful to answer the Kings question regarding their devotion to their God. And guess what? God proved that He was mightier than the King. He jumped in the fire and divided it away from His worshippers. Oh, the power in worshipping the Most High God! He is the God who parts the flames of fire.
THURSDAY
The voice of the Lord shakes the wilderness;
The Lord shakes the Wilderness of Kadesh.
The voice of the Lord makes the deer give birth,
And strips the forests bare;
And in His temple everyone says, “Glory!”
Psalm 29:8-9
God’s voice has spoken-who can help but obey? His once-spoken, “let there be,” causes the animals to bring forth their young. He is able to do exceeding and abundantly above all we ask or think.
The Lord shakes the barren desert wilderness and causes the rose to bloom in Sharon. He uncovers the secrets of the forest and causes humans to stand in awe of His marvelous works. He is the God Most High. He causes everything to bow down to Him. The heavens declare His handiwork. All creation declares His glory. Look up at the sky and know how wonderful He is. He created all of that and heaven too!
FRIDAY
The Lord sat enthroned at the Flood,
And the Lord sits as King forever.
The Lord will give strength to His people;
The Lord will bless His people with peace.
Psalm 29:10-11
God even calms the flood. He sits upon the flood and directs its course; God works in the flood. Floods are associated with warning, not just judgment. Floods tell of the Awesome Power of God and our need for Him. Floods cause us to seek shelter-to fall into His everlasting arms. The fact that God sits upon the flood demonstrates His authority over it. Everything else is swept away by the flood. God controls the flood. He reigns over it.
This same strength He gives to His people. Worship the Awesome God, Give Him the glory due His Name. He will be with you in His Power and majesty and might. He reigns supreme. He is the Awesome God.
