INDEPENCENCE DAY—THE YEAR OF JUBILEE

A teaching by Rev. Barbara Williams, President of the Ministry of the Watchman International

Week of January 4-8, 2021

The provision of God happens in the Year of Jubilee.

In the Hebrew culture, this was every fifty years. Jesus is our jubilee. He has paid the fiftieth-year price for us. He has fulfilled the law and made a way for us to have access to the holiness of God.

We will look at the provisions of the jubilee year.

MONDAY

RETURN OF POSSESSIONS

And you shall consecrate the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a Jubilee for you; and each of you shall return to his possession, and each of you shall return to his family.
Leviticus 25:10

If a Hebrew lost his land due to poor stewardship, or if he became indebted and had to forfeit his land for payment, it had to be given back to him in the Year of Jubilee.

Debt is not eternal. Lack is not eternal. Now is our time to receive all that the enemy has stolen through lies, deceit and all trickery. We can use our faith toward God and His goodness to prevail over the works of darkness. We know that the blessing of God is ours.

Jesus gives us this assurance by the sound of the jubilee trumpet in our hearts proclaiming liberty to the captives.

If you are in need of healing, there is good news! Proverbs 4:20-22 SAYS:

My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

So there is life and health in God’s word. Since God’s word is medicine, we must take it like we would a prescription. I suggest three times a day, like you would your food. Remember, healing is the children’s bread. Consider this your “dose” for today. Remember, read, and meditate three times a day the following:

Rx: 1 John 3:8b ~ For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

“Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
2 Timothy 2:15

If you’ve never studied the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, we invite you to join us as we read through the Bible in a year. Read and meditate on these chapters this week:

January 4: Genesis 4, Matthew 4, Ezra 4, Acts 4
January 5: Genesis 5, Matthew 5, Ezra 5, Acts 5
January 6: Genesis 6, Matthew 6, Ezra 6, Acts 6
January 7: Genesis 7, Matthew 7, Ezra 7, Acts 7
January 8: Genesis 8, Matthew 8, Ezra 8, Acts 8
January 9: Genesis 9-10, Matthew 9, Ezra 9, Acts 9
January 10: Genesis 11, Matthew 10, Ezra 10, Acts 10

TUESDAY

RETURN OF FAMILY

And you shall consecrate the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a Jubilee for you; and each of you shall return to his possession, and each of you shall return to his family.
Leviticus 25:10

The family of God is due for an increase in the Year of Jubilee. Prisoners were retuned to their families. The oppressed were set free. Families who were separated for any reason were returned to one another.

What has separated your family? Divorce? Disobedience? Misunderstanding? All hindering forces must bow to the name of Jesus.

He has declared that you belong together and shall live in great peace. Our independence day is now. We can reach out to the unreachable and believe the impossible because we live by the faith of the Son of God.

WEDNESDAY

WE SHALL NO LONGER OPPRESS ONE ANOTHER

And if you sell anything to your neighbor or buy from your neighbor’s hand, you shall not oppress one another.
Leviticus 25:14

There is plenty for all, and we know it. God has given us His assurance that He is El Shaddai… the God that is more than enough.

There is an overflow of love one toward another. We give freely to one another because we have freely received of His love and provision. The spirit of generosity is among the people of God. We are more like God and can give as He gives.

We can sow seeds of love in the Year of Jubilee. We sow seeds than cannot be sown at any other time. We love and are loved in this age because Jesus, the Lover of all Mankind, has granted us His Spirit.

THURSDAY

WE HAVE THE FREEDOM TO OBEY GOD

So you shall observe My statutes and keep My judgments, and perform them; and you will dwell in the land in safety.
Leviticus 25:18

No longer will sin reign in our mortal bodies. God is with us in a very real measure. He has forgiven us and paid the full price for our freedom. We are free to worship, fellowship, and obey Him.

He has transformed us by washing us clean and making us new creatures. Old things are no longer evident. Everything is new for us. This is the life we were meant to live.

We have liberty and blessing. We are made rich and without sorrow. We are empowered by His word to live by His decree.

FRIDAY

YOU SHALL HAVE REST

That fiftieth year shall be a Jubilee to you; in it you shall neither sow nor reap what grows of its own accord, nor gather the grapes of your untended vine.
And if you say, “What shall we eat in the seventh year, since we shall not sow nor gather in our produce?” Then I will command My blessing on you in the sixth year, and it will bring forth produce enough for three years.
Leviticus 25:11, 20-21

You may live off the seeds that have been sown. No longer will the devourer fight you on every hand because you have the authority of the Name of Jesus. You have the power of God and keys to the Kingdom.

God commands the blessing on us. He commands Himself to bless us. He tells us to be anxious for nothing. He has it all for us. He does the blessing, if we will be the blessed. We are free from the devil’s power and hindrances because of Jesus.

This is our day of Independence.
