Judges 6:14-16

“Then the Lord turned to him and said, ‘Go in this might of yours, and you shall save Israel from the hand of the Midianites. Have I not sent you?’
So he said to Him, ‘O my Lord, how can I save Israel? Indeed my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.’
And the Lord said to him, ‘Surely I will be with you, and you shall defeat the Midianites as one man.’”
Judges 6:14-16

“I am the least…”  This was Gideon’s response to the angel who visited him as he was hiding his meager barley harvest from the Midianites. Gideon had a desire for change, but couldn’t see himself doing anything to change the misery that Israel was subjected to.

Many Christians feel the same way. We talk and complain about how bad the world is, but always feel it’s someone else’s job to do something about it. But God is saying: “I choose you!”

Just as He did with Gideon, he is looking for someone who doesn’t see himself as great, powerful or important. He is looking for someone who hungers to see people delivered from the enemy’s hand.

Is that you, beloved? Then God is looking for you. Just say yes to Him.
