THOUGHT FOR TUESDAY
The Fourth Watch Is Soon Enough
SCRIPTURE: MATTHEW 14:22-33
Jesus has sent his disciples ahead of Him by boat. He tells them He will meet them on the other side of the lake. Jesus let’s the crowd disperse and goes to a solitary place to pray. During the fourth watch he sets out walking on water to join the disciples, but a storm has arisen and they are struggling to get control of the ship.
Why did Jesus send them knowing the storm would arise? Why wait until almost dawn to show up? God promises we will have struggles in this world but He would help us overcome. The question is, will we continue to follow God’s command even under contrary circumstances?
Just when it seems to be hopeless, God shows up and delivers us. The darkest hour is the fourth watch, just before dawn. God knows the right time to set for our deliverance.
