MONDAY’S MEDITATION
Who in His Right Mind Wouldn’t Want to Follow Jesus?
SCRIPTURE: MARK 5:1-19
Jesus has landed in a province of the Gadarenes. Everything He does is by assignment. Immediately when he comes ashore he is approached by a man who is so demon possessed, that he doesn’t even speak for himself anymore but when Jesus asks his name, the demons speak for him. He cannot live with his family but lives in a graveyard, cutting himself constantly and crying out at the top of his lungs day and night. When people try to restrain him with chains, the demons inside him break the chains.
Jesus casts the demons out and the man’s mind returns to him. He gets dressed. He is so thankful to Jesus that he wants to follow Him. Now in His right mind he wants to follow God.
Are you praying for family members who show no interest in serving God? Be encouraged. Just as light came into the soul of this man, it will dawn on your loved one, their minds will change and they will desire to follow Jesus.
