The Gift of Holiness
SCRIPTURE: LUKE 1:75
Shhhh. Don’t say that word too loud. Someone might get offended. We don’t much talk about holiness… the act of living a separated and consecrated life. God set us apart for His use. We are His trophy, His crown. He desires a holy people. He makes His boast in His holy bride… she is adorned in His glory. We talk very freely about other attributes of God: faith, love, blessing… but holiness gets little applause. Why? Perhaps we think we still belong to ourselves… we can serve God or take a day off. But we admire others who live the consecrated life… just don’t ask us to do it. Little do we realize that we are holy anyway, we’re just afraid to own it. Those who own it and are not ashamed earn our respect. We need to be that person. Own your gift. Your God is holy. Be holy and unashamed.
