And She Stood at a Distance to See What Would Happen to Him

SCRIPTURE: EXODUS 2:6

This, of course is Miriam, Moses’s big sister watching to see what would happen to him. Pharaoh has made a decree that all Hebrew baby boys be thrown into the Nile river to drown. But his mother instead puts him in a little ark and releases him to float in the river.

Heartbroken, she thinks this is her final glimpse of her baby. But his older sister has a different view. I thank God for people like this. They stand at a distance, looking for a reason to hope. Miriam sees Moses picked up by Pharaoh’s daughter and volunteers to find a new mother to nurse the baby. She returns with their mother, who Pharaoh’s daughter hires to nurse him. Miriam represents the person God will bring into your life to evaluate your situation from a distance.

Where you may be fearful, distraught, hopeless, your helper is peaceful, hopeful, full of faith and the power of God. Their distance from the emotion of your situation gives you a great advantage. With God’s help, they will come into agreement with you for your miracle.

Never doubt that God has people positioned to help you. They are your miracle connection.
