MONDAY’S MEDITATION
Y’all Pray for Me I’m on Consecration
SCRIPTURE: MATTHEW 6:16-19
I’m not sure what’s going on when people make this request. Jesus says that when we fast, we should act like normal: no fanfare, broadcasting… wash your face, brush your teeth, put on makeup… if we do it in secret, God rewards us openly.
The other part is that fasting is done to rid one of unbelief, making one’s prayers more effective and powerful, yet many people ask others to pray for them during a fast. We need to take a bible break, folks. Religion kills. It provides a form of godliness with no power.
There’s no reason for this degree of ignorance of the ways of our loving and merciful God. He wants His children full of the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, not religious tradition.
