Let Us Provoke One Another to Love and Good Works

MONDAY’S MEDITATION

Let Us Provoke One Another to Love and Good Works

SCRIPTURE: HEBREWS 10:24

We influence one another. We share ideas, information, stories. It’s called fellowship, and God created us with a need and desire to spend time with one another…with purpose. The purpose of Christian fellowship is to encourage one another as ambassadors of God’s kingdom. Fellowship can be a social affair or it can be an opportunity for kingdom expansion.

A dynamic that accomplishes that end is provoking one another to love and good works. Sharing testimony does that. When I hear a testimony of praying for the sick, leading a lost soul to Christ, I am stirred and think, “I wanna do that.” It’s not jealousy in a negative sense, but a nudge or push toward fulfilling the great commission. It’s a good thing to stir one another, then seek an open door to imitate Christ. I’m planning to do it more often.

How about you?
