Let Me Get This Straight… You Kidnapped GOD??? What on Earth Are You Going to Do With Him?
SCRIPTURE: 1 SAMUEL 5-6
Well, the Philistines bit off more than they could chew with this one. As Israel was being overtaken by the Philistine army, they brought the ark of the covenant to the battlefield. When the Philistines heard them shout in victory they became afraid and sought to remove the source of their power so they stole the ark of God. IKR?
Who can control the God of the universe, yet we try, don’t we?
We give our lives to Christ, yet have our own plans. We get a prophecy and try and bring it to pass… in the flesh. God starts a revival and men want to put their name on it (or at least the name of their city).
The Philistines had an excuse… they were pagans… totally ignorant of God’s ways, but they found out about His power; the hard way. Each time they moved the ark, disaster followed: plagues, death, destruction. Until they finally returned it to its rightful place and never tried that again. God must be respected and worshipped as God. He wants to be at peace with humanity, but it will only come if He is revered and respected. This and every nation of the world must again put God in His rightful place. Honor and glory and power belong to Him alone.
