GOD’S PURPOSE FOR THE SEED

A teaching by Rev. Barbara Williams, President of the Ministry of the Watchman International

Week of October 24-28, 2022

MONDAY
I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in you, which dwelled first in your grandmother Lois, and your mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in you also.
2 Timothy 1:5

The Apostle Paul is saying that there is an inheritance for the seed of the righteous. This inheritance is more valuable than any natural inheritance. It is a spiritual inheritance that comes to the child supernaturally. It is an inheritance of faith. He describes the faith that was in Timothy’s grandmother and mother as the same type of faith that is in him, also. How could he make such a statement? Was it mere observation, or could there be more to this faith inheritance than we know.

If you are in need of healing, there is good news! Proverbs 4:20-22 SAYS:

My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

So there is life and health in God’s word. Since God’s word is medicine, we must take it like we would a prescription. I suggest three times a day, like you would your food. Remember, healing is the children’s bread. Consider this your “dose” for today. Remember, read, and meditate three times a day the following:

Rx: Nehemiah 8:10 ~ The joy of the Lord is your strength.

“Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
2 Timothy 2:15

TUESDAY
I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in you, which dwelled first in your grandmother Lois, and your mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in you also.
2 Timothy 1:5

The faith that Paul is taking about is evident for three generations. Many people don’t know how this could be. Often, we see one generation on fire for God, then it is a rare thing that the children will share that zeal. But the word of God says that the glory of the former house (generation) will be greater than that of the former, and that our sons and daughters will prophesy. How can such a thing be? Is there some supernatural gift involved here that will make the children of the righteous increase in wisdom and knowledge with each succeeding generation?

WEDNESDAY
I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in you, which dwelled first in your grandmother Lois, and your mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in you also.
2 Timothy 1:5

There must be. God promised Abram that his descendants would number as many as the stars in the sky…so many that he could not count them. That’s increase. If God can increase the natural, why can He not increase the spiritual? The spiritual has greater impact, greater power and more potential for God to prosper it. There is a high degree of power and potential in the spiritual vs. the natural things, so why could God not increase the faith of each generation.

THURSDAY
I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in you, which dwelled first in your grandmother Lois, and your mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in you also.
2 Timothy 1:5

God increases the earth using the principle of the seed and the sower. When God takes the seed of our faith and causes it to grow, the faith that is produced is a higher quality and greater ability that the seed that was planted. Jesus likened faith to a mustard seed, which starts out the smallest of seeds, but grows into a very large bush. It is the same with the God-kind of faith. It is a seed that is planted into our seed (children) if we will allow it, and it grows as we believe that God will increase the knowledge of Him in our seed. When we obey God’s word and declare His word over our seed, an increase in God and His faith occurs in our seed…that is the seed principle.

FRIDAY
I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in you, which dwelled first in your grandmother Lois, and your mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in you also.
2 Timothy 1:5

Sowing bountifully is the key. We are to raise our children in God’s word, nurturing and admonishing them, and living a Godly example before them. If we do this, we are doing the beginning obedience that it takes to raise Godly seed, and the same faith that is in us will be in all our seed for many generations. This is what God had in mind when He promised Abram in increase in His descendants…this was the spiritual seed of Abraham that was foreshadowed. These were the unborn children of the ever-increasing faith of Abraham, who had the God-kind of faith.
