God Forgives Our Sin and Remembers It No More

SCRIPTURE: JEREMIAH 31:34

Sin is defined as stepping over a boundary; missing the mark; being ignorant. God often defines behavior with intent in mind. Some of life’s most painful experiences are the result of someone aiming for one thing and hitting another. The husband that just wants to relax after work stops at a bar, pretty soon he’s squandering his paycheck at the watering hole. The wife and mother is burnt out and wants a little “me time”, but it lasts for several years and her family lacks nurturing. After a while people get tired of missing the mark and quit even trying. That’s when God shows up to help us aim better.

He strengthens our arm so that the next arrow we fire hits the target. Sin often begins with stepping over the line into selfishness. God helps us back over the line and teaches us how to come to Him when we are tempted. We are no longer habitual sinners, but we have learned how to be content with God’s boundaries established in our lives. There’s so much freedom in His will. He is the missing ingredient.
