Overcoming the Mainstream
SCRIPTURE: REVELATION 12:11
When God gave Israel land, they had to fight and overcome the people who lived there. It seems rough, but it was conquer or be conquered during those times. They were admonished to not make friends with these inhabitants. They were enemies because they served pagan gods. The temptation to compromise was great because association caused kinship and assimilation.
We have the same issue. We fight the mainstream of thought, values, behavior and goals. The decadence and immorality that is mainstream is the enemy of God’s kingdom and His people. God has sanctified us for His purpose but we must fight the temptation to blend in compromise.
Don’t get lured off the narrow road. Resist mainstream thought, values and activities. Overcomers fight the mainstream and in exchange God empowers them to do exploits.
