THE WHATSOEVER TEACHINGS OF JESUS

A teaching by Rev. Barbara Williams, President of the Ministry of the Watchman International

Week of April 12-16, 2021

MONDAY
And Simon Peter answered and said,
“Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
And Jesus answered and said unto him, “Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but My Father who is in Heaven. And I say also unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven. And whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in Heaven, and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in Heaven.”
Matthew 16:16-19

The instruction that follows revelation is very important. Peter has had Christ revealed to him. This is the defining moment in every Christian’s life. This is the turning point in the life of every believer. This is the point of no return. There must be instruction that follows revelation because the revelation is given for the purpose of advancing God’s kingdom.

We have not because we ask not, but when the answer comes, we must be ready for instruction and accountability. This is what happens with Peter. When the Father introduces him to the Son, he is given instruction for his life’s work. It is always this way. If you have the Son, you have new life. You need instruction on how to live for Him. He is holding you accountable for this life.

If you are in need of healing, there is good news! Proverbs 4:20-22 SAYS:

My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

So there is life and health in God’s word. Since God’s word is medicine, we must take it like we would a prescription. I suggest three times a day, like you would your food. Remember, healing is the children’s bread. Consider this your “dose” for today. Remember, read, and meditate three times a day the following:

Rx: Mark 10:27 ~ But Jesus looked at them and said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.”

“Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
2 Timothy 2:15

TUESDAY

The rock of revelation supports everything that the church does. When the church is void of revelation, then we abide in darkness. We are the light of the world. This light shines in gross darkness, and is able to overtake gross darkness. The light of revelation keeps the church strong, and there is instruction that comes with the revelation that God gives. When God instructs us, He is making a command, not asking if we want to do something for Him. The fact that God has revealed Himself to us commits us to Him. We are committed to serve humanity by preaching the gospel that has been revealed to us.

WEDNESDAY

Jesus gives the instruction to the church to take authority for Him through binding and loosing. What does this mean? Well, we know that when man was created, he was given dominion (lordship) over the earth.

When we sinned, we never lost dominion. However, the dominion was diminished by the curse. Everything slowed down to the time frame that we have on earth now. It seems to take too long for prayers to get answered, and for progress to be made. We have allowed too much sin into the earth for God to move speedily in our lives. When Jesus announced that whatsoever we bind or loose on earth is backed up by heaven, this broke the curse of time. Heaven now releases what we desire at the sound of our words.

THURSDAY

The prophet Daniel prayed and his words were fought mightily in the heavens. He lived under the law. We live under grace and have the character of Christ in us and the word of God inside us. We also have the mind of Christ and the anointing. We have the command of binding and loosing and God backs up what we say.

There is an immediate release of what we desire from heaven. Our words are backed up by the personal revelation that we have of the Lord. Our words have credibility at the throne because God assures us that we are acceptable to Him. We then have a mandate of accountability with that revelation. When God is on the throne of our hearts, then we have the power of heaven backing us up. He trusts us to carry out His commands.

FRIDAY

God trusts our words. He does because we are speaking from a personal revelation of Christ and not from the worldly lusts that we used to be bound to. When we loose the word of God, we can have what we say. We are using the faith of the Son of God who has revealed Himself in all His glory. Whenever we speak His word, we are speaking on His behalf. That is why heaven responds so readily. The “whatsoever” here refers to the “blank check” that God gives us to present at His throne of grace. When we respond to His instructions based on what we know about God, then we have power to release heaven here on earth.
