You Will Be Rewarded For the Good You Do—Even if God Has to Keep Somebody up All Night to Do It

You Will Be Rewarded For the Good You Do—Even if God Has to Keep Somebody up All Night to Do It

SCRIPTURE: ESTHER 6

The king can’t sleep. Sleeplessness is not always a bad thing but can provide an opportunity for a blessing. He orders that his servant read the book of palace activities, the chronicles to him. They run across the story of a plot to kill the king that was disclosed by Mordecai, the Jew. The King asks what was given to Mordecai to thank him and show him honor. It is found that nothing was done for him.

A good king rewards the deserving. He wants to repay Mordecai immediately and asks his governor Haman to prepare the honor ceremony for Mordecai.

When we do the right thing it is remembered by God. We don’t have to hint around, get angry or pick up offense. We are never forgotten by God and it is He who gives us our reward. It may appear that we are forgotten, but God reserves our reward and honor for the right time.

Haman had planned to hang Mordecai that day. He was hung instead. Maybe God is delaying your reward until your enemies are rendered powerless. Then you can really enjoy it.
