They Never Put Their Heart Into Their Prayers
SCRIPTURE: HOSEA 7:14
God was angry with Israel. They cried out to Him but they used the methods of the pagan worshippers. God responds to the heart above all else. Whole heart, pure heart, singleness of heart are ways He describes what He honors.
The Pharisees used loud, long prayers. God rejected them. They were doing it to impress men. God heard Israel when they sighed, a sound that was barely audible and He delivered the whole nation from Pharaoh and the most powerful army on earth because it was from the heart. God wants our sincere, heartfelt devotion. He loves us so much and He expects love in return.
Don’t be stingy with your love. Give it all to God. You’re not a Pharisee; you’re His loving child.
