Now That’s What I Call a Made up Mind

SCRIPTURE: DANIEL 2

The world is angry when you refuse to bow to their ways. Expect to be persecuted for your devotion to God. Schadrach, Meschach, Abednego are facing such persecution. They are being forced by the government to dance before a graven image when the music is played. Everybody else does it. They refuse. They don’t even have to think about it. They have resisted the temptations of Babylon since they were young boys. The testing never stops so your resisting can’t stop. When you resist the devil he leaves for a season, but continues to target you. This time, he wants them dead. Have they made resisting a way of life?

We find out in a most miraculous way. When they are brought before the king, he questions them, to give them a chance to change their minds and dance. Their answer is automatic and bold: “Your majesty, we don’t have to defend ourselves… our God whom we serve will deliver us, and if He chooses not to… we ain’t dancing to your music.” You get it?

Even their dance was dedicated to God. The devil wants to play a tune and compel us to dance to it: compromise with sinners on the job, lying to a spouse or parent, not being faithful to God’s commands. It’s best to have an already made up mind to not cross the line. In time of testing you will be found faithful. This isn’t something you take time to think about. Your heart must be fixed and trusting God 💯. I ain’t dancing. How about you?
