ARE YOU LOADED WITH BENEFITS?

A teaching by Rev. Barbara Williams, President of the Ministry of the Watchman International

Week of July 18-22, 2022

MONDAY
Blessed be the Lord,
Who daily loads us with benefits,
the God of our salvation! Selah
Psalm 68:19

This is a statement of fact. God daily loads us with benefits.

Do you believe it? Can you believe it?

If you do not believe it, you will not benefit from it.

What type of benefits would God place upon His children? What is a benefit from God?

“I never heard that term used in relation to God before,” you might say. What is a benefit, anyway?

A benefit is something that promotes or enhances well-being. You might say, “Well, Barb, I’m saved and that’s enough for me.” This is good… because we are speaking about the God of salvation. He is also the God of benefits.

Many people switch jobs primarily for the benefits that are given besides the salary. This can tip the balance in favor of one employer or another. I had a job in sales that I disliked but they provided a car. It was hard to dislike anything that eliminated a monthly car note. The car was a benefit, not the job. God has given us His Spirit and His life. How we allow these life forces to affect us daily can be a benefit.

Using our faith to receive these benefits is a part of our salvation.

If you are in need of healing, there is good news! Proverbs 4:20-22 SAYS:

My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

So there is life and health in God’s word. Since God’s word is medicine, we must take it like we would a prescription. I suggest three times a day, like you would your food. Remember, healing is the children’s bread. Consider this your “dose” for today. Remember, read, and meditate three times a day the following:

Rx: Psalm 118:17 ~ I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.

“Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
2 Timothy 2:15

TUESDAY
Blessed be the Lord,
Who daily loads us with benefits,
the God of our salvation! Selah
Psalm 68:19

One of the Hebrew words for “benefit” is the same as the word for manger, or feeding-trough. Just as the animal expects the master to load the manger on a daily basis with hay or whatever kind of food he needs, so is our God willing to daily loads our lives with the benefits we need.

One person’s necessities may be another person’s benefits. A benefit may be a necessity after a while. You may find your life flowing with ease because of divine favor, which is a benefit from God. Perhaps you are accustomed to going to a certain supermarket on a weekly basis. God always leads you to the best bargains on the things that you like. You may even find coupons for things in a certain department and you wind up saving an extra twenty dollars or so.

Having a flow of economically sound benefits in your life on a continual basis may make you feel that this is normal, but talk to your neighbor sometimes and understand their experiences. You may be surprised to hear the struggle that they go through just to have enough food on the table from week to week.

WEDNESDAY
Blessed be the Lord,
Who daily loads us with benefits,
the God of our salvation! Selah
Psalm 68:19

This is an important thing to consider: a benefit from God is worth more than money. Favor is a type of medium of exchange in the realm of the spirit. Favor opens doors that no man can close. It closes doors that no man can open.

Favor kept Daniel alive all night in a den of lions. This was a benefit of serving God. Each morning, Daniel was loaded with the benefits that God knew he would need for that day. If we do not use our faith for the benefits, we will struggle just like the heathen do. The people who do not know God look forward to struggle and disappointment. They cannot have joy because they must stay focused on how they are going to make it from day to day.

Having a carefree life is a benefit of serving God. The fruit of joy can be a part of your daily load of benefits.

THURSDAY
Blessed be the Lord,
Who daily loads us with benefits,
the God of our salvation! Selah
Psalm 68:19

You went for your annual check-up and they found a shadow on your chest x-ray. You get to church on Sunday and the pastor prays for you according to James 5:14. When you go back for a repeat x-ray or scan, the former shadow cannot be found.

Jesus said that healing was bread for the children of God. When you believe God for your daily bread, that includes healing, too. Daily we need to have God’s healing virtue flowing through our bodies.

This is a benefit according to Psalm 103:3. This promise is acted upon when James 5:14 is obeyed. When we consider that each morning God has a new load of benefits, we will begin to live far above our circumstances. We will expect favor wherever we go, because He loads us daily with benefits.

FRIDAY
Blessed be the Lord,
Who daily loads us with benefits,
the God of our salvation! Selah
Psalm 68:19

Another Hebrew word translated as “benefit” is also the word for camel. The camel is the beast of burden in the desert areas. Camels were laden with goods that needed to be transported. When a person considers a camel, he considers the animal doing its job of carrying precious goods for a person who could afford such an animal.

We all have a personal camel. God has provided us with the capacity to put the benefits that He gives us to work. He has given us things to do. He has given us families, friends, and a ministry to do for Him. We have a need for a load of benefits if we do all the things that God has told us to do.

The reason He loads us daily with benefits is that He plans to bless us in order that we will be a blessing. We are to bless Him for daily loading us with benefits so that we may be a blessing. Expect the benefits to increase as you serve the Lord. He expects more from us every day, and He promotes us to greater responsibility, which requires more resources.

Are you loaded?

You have the benefit package that comes from God!
