YOUR ENEMY IS WEAK

A teaching by Rev. Barbara Williams, President of the Ministry of the Watchman International

Week of September 26-30, 2022

MONDAY
If he steals to satisfy himself when he is starving. Yet when he is found, he must restore sevenfold; he may have to give up all the substance of his house.
Proverbs 6:30-31

Your enemy is headed toward bankruptcy. According to God’s law of restitution, the thief must repay sevenfold what he has stolen, even to the emptying of his storehouse. This is good news for the believer. This means that Satan is defeated on his own terms. How often does the enemy uses finances and money to cause trouble for us? If we examine the word of God, restitution is uppermost on God’s mind. He cares about the oppressed. He even tells us that when we give to the poor, He becomes indebted to us, and He will surely repay us. He not only delivers us out of bondage, but He allows us to recover whatever the oppressor has taken. This is good news to all of us. Wherever sin and deception have caused loss, the Lord restores that which has been taken.

If you are in need of healing, there is good news! Proverbs 4:20-22 SAYS:

My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

So there is life and health in God’s word. Since God’s word is medicine, we must take it like we would a prescription. I suggest three times a day, like you would your food. Remember, healing is the children’s bread. Consider this your “dose” for today. Remember, read, and meditate three times a day the following:

Rx: Acts 10:38 ~ How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

“Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
2 Timothy 2:15

TUESDAY
Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
James 4:7

Submission is the greatest strength we have. Submission to the Lord shows our unwavering faith in Him. We take on the attributes of whomever we submit to. Our faith in God provides a protective shield behind which we may dwell. We need a protected dwelling place under the shadow of the Almighty. We need a strong tower to which we can run when the enemy begins to assail us.

We are in a war of words. Words that condemn, provoke, and attack our character can do great damage to our souls. God has provided a refuge for us from the fiery darts of the wicked one. We can trust God to do what He says He will do for us when we obey Him.

WEDNESDAY
And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness to the judgment of the great day; as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
Jude 1:6-7

Satan is a loser. He did not keep his first estate. Iniquity caused him to be dispossessed from heaven, his first dwelling place. Jude further goes on to describe Satan as a wandering star to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever. We are children of light.

When we allow our light to shine, we are led by the Spirit of God, and there is no darkness at all in God. Darkness cannot overtake or understand light, so it is those in darkness who stumble. Your adversary has no eyes to see. He can only seek to lure the children of light into the darkness if he is to have his way with them.

Keeping ourselves free from darkness and deception will allow us to triumph over the enemy every time.

THURSDAY
The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
John 10:10

The thief comes to steal, kill and destroy. Whatever the thief gets, he eventually destroys. I remember the movie “Edward Scissorhands.” It was a fable about a young man who had scissors for hands. Though he tried to do good with the hands, they were weapons of destruction.

The devil cannot help doing evil. It is his nature. That is why he must deceive and tempt us with the promise of something good. He knows that down the road we will run into destruction. Destruction is inevitable for those who choose him over the Lord Jesus Christ.

Destruction is used by the weak to intimidate the strong. It is an instrument used by the dispossessed. They have nothing to lose because they don’t own anything. Destruction is what gives terrorism its power. But it is a weak power. It can be overcome with goodness and the power to liberate from oppression.

FRIDAY
The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness, the world and those who dwell therein.
Psalm 24:1

Remember that the earth and everything that the earth contains is the Lord’s. Ownership is everything. This is why God is Alpha and Omega.

It doesn’t matter what happens in between, God has the final word and His word is good. All the things that are being done to destroy the earth will not matter in the glorious future because the Lord has laid up crowns for those who serve Him.

Long after destruction has run its course, God will still be here working with His people. God’s plans always come to pass. He is Almighty God and not a loser. We need to remember this in times of natural uncertainty.

Let us pray that God’s strength will prevail in the earth, and that His love will be known and felt by the people of the earth.
