THOUGHT FOR TUESDAY
This Is My Comfort in My Affliction: Your Word Gives Me Life
SCRIPTURE: PSALM 119:50
We don’t like to talk about pain and suffering. That’s what this word affliction means. Like it or not, we will all experience it. Whether it’s physical, emotional, temporary or protracted, God has provided comfort for each and every one of us no matter the situation. It’s found in His word.
The same word that has helped us rejoice in good times will help is in our pain. God doesn’t make light of our pain, but He is right there with us in it, soothing us with the promise of relief if for only a brief period of time. The word assures us that the affliction will end; that life and health will spring forth anew.
Lean on Him for comfort. He will hold you up. His word assures us of better days ahead. This is our comfort.
